Sir George Fistonich, has been dubbed the Guardian of the Wine Industry, being an early adopter of the new and taking note of social trends.

George has recently researched the idea of bottling in half-size bottles (375ml) for well over a decade balancing the cost of production with market need but they’re an idea whose time has come. With the rapid growth of the well-being and moderation movements around the world, people are changing their drinking habits, looking to drink less and drink higher quality,  as well as being more conscious of calorie intake and waste. The days of a couple polishing off a 750 bottle in an evening are waning.

Half bottles allow people to enjoy great wines without opening (and sometimes wasting) a 750ml bottle. It also allows for different varieties in people’s taste buds so people can enjoy and share wine when and as they wish.

Wineries around the world are embracing the half bottles as customers and the culture of wine changes.
